Vail Film Festival
The Vail Film Festival is produced by the Vail Film Institute, a non-profit arts organization dedicated to fostering independent cinema.

The ski area known as "Vail" was founded in 1962. A soldier who served for the U.S. army during World War II and who trained at the nearby 10th Mountain Division had a dream. His dream was to develop a ski area and his name was Pete Seibert. Pete knew the mountainous areas surrounding Vail from his rigorous preparation for war in this scenic slice of Colorado. Joining a nearby rancher named Earl Eaton in his quest; the two became major players in developing and finding investors to open Vail.

In 2007 Vail was voted #1 for the 14th time in 19 years in SKI Magazines "Top 50 Resort Guide" with 5,289 skiable acres, 34 lifts and 198 trails.
